What are the advantages?

1. Surprisingly Strong 2. It is Fireproof 3. A good insulator (R factor between 2.5 and 3.0 per inch)

and most of all … 4) It is inexpensive.

As far as longevity is concerned, you need not worry a block of this stuff is estimated to have lifespan of 2000 years f(or what they call “Castle Blocks.” )
