The National Gallery of Art's Web site has an extensive collection of paintings, sculpture, decorative arts, and works on paper spans over 600 years of history from the Middle Ages to the present day. Here is some real good stuff that we can be proud of.

Fine Art -- Giclee

I am not sure where I will classify this link. Under ART or under Business Opportunity. Heck, I'll put in in both classes -- problem solved. What this covers is computer printing on canvas. Enough said, just take a look at this link and check out their prices. Not a bad little art business. :)

Art of Buying Art

This site, the galeryNow doesn't hesitate to share some secret of the trade. As they point out, "Buying is a serious art which can be intimidating if you've never done it before." They are adding a special column from the upcoming ART OF BUYING ART. You might want to bookmark this URL to check on the progress of this site.

Learn to Make Homemade Paper

I you haven't check the learn2.com site, here is another interesting 'how to' make paper. The process of making homemade paper is simple and the result are quite striking.

The Frick Art Reference

This Library is one of the world's great repositories for the documentation and visual study of Western Art and serves as the research arm of The Frick Collection.

More Legal Stuff on Copyrights

It takes time and money to generate works of arts, but these can easily be copied and, such a vagrant act, will directly impact the well-being of true owner. Here are three additional resource which were brought to my attention by Louis Herff.

Artists Rights Society (ARS) of New York
For copyrights and related legislation see:

Walnet.org

For copyrights, all the national organizations are interwoven and each one is the representative of all the others. Some national organizations:

Switzerland
Canada

Clay Animation

Remember the California Raisins TV commercial? It was done with clay animation. According to this site, "There really are no secrets, there are just not many people who do clay animation for a living, and can tell how it is done." This site will teach you Claymation and what tools, clays, and techniques you need to know to create neat characters for animation.

This site has compiled a comprehensive index of every artist represented at hundreds of museum sites, image archives, and other online resources. Here you will find indeces of 700 leading arts sites. Also provided is more than 24,000 links directly to an estimated 80,000 works by 7,000 different artists who have art with home pages on the Web.

World Wide Art Resources

This site is claiming to be largest gateway for online arts information on artists, museums, galleries, quality art, art history, arts education, antiques, theater, and more... I have not had much of a chance to visit the site, but just looking at the opening home page I can say that it is chuck-full of goodies for the art lovers. Apparently, World Wide Art Resource also allow artists to create a free Artists Portfolio to showcase and sell their own art. They are not the only one. But if you are into this kind of stuff, it really helps to put your art works where the traffic is.
