What is this site all about?

Answer:   This site is  not designed to persuade; it simply marks a possible path -- a guidepost.

On the birthing of the herff.com site, I was not sure which direction this site should take. Just like a chunk of clay, which can be lumped, softened, shaped, molded, extruded, centered and  re-centered, so will the look, feel, and objective of this site. Its exact final shape (this site) will never be finalized ...it will keep "morphing" as time passes. One thing that will remain, though, is my ability to let the world "hear" my small drum rolls for small mini-ventures such as the Herff Galleries. So permit me to be a little bit self-serving without being commercially obnoxious. I am a minimalist-at-heart and love the concepts of simplicity. This philosophy already reflects on the design style of the herff.com site.

My working world involves complexity ... that's my vocation. My endeavor and avocation is to establish a lifestyle which frees me of  technological "unwarranted-stupidity" -- more on this topic later as I will let you join me into my world of pet-peeves, not to mention my tirade(s) of "soapbox-type" ranting and raving (I promised to "yell softly".)

Argh, what's the point ... what is my objective?  Well, beside the satisfaction of having a web site, my objective is to have a small impact on the visitors. I know, my chance of lecturing you into a new way of thinking, a new politic, or even perhaps entice you in joining new religion is next to null, perhaps it is an even negative-type of null (meaning that it can backfire.) I've learned a long time ago that there are certain topic that are just not worth wasting time on because they have a solid self-protection shields against missionary-like missions. So, view all that is presented as a catalyst(*) for miscellaneous quests.
 
What I want to do is to present a bunch a guide posts, each really saying: "look here!" here is an interesting thing; "have you ever seen this ...?"; "here is a weird thing"; "isn't this wonderful?" Well you get the jest of it --  the choices of routes you take are yours and yours alone.

I hope that you enjoy this site and that you will continue to visit it because this site is dynamic. Orphan links will be removed as they are discovered. New links of "neat stuff" will be added as they are being unearthed.

(* ) A catalyst is a term used in chemistry which describe a substance that initiates or accelerates a chemical reaction without itself being affected. A catalyst causes things to happen, it is an "activator."

Where is herff.com located?

The herff.com and the Herff Web Galleries operation centers are located in Feasterville, Lower Southampton in beautiful and picturesque Bucks County, Pennsylvania, in the USA, a county where many artists, poets and writers have called home in the last couple hundred years.
